About TEC Foundation Day (Tech-Demiurge)

It's not that we only use technology, we provide a platform to initiate the same. THE SCIENCE OF TODAY IS TECHNOLOGY OF TOMORROW Technical event cell, Parul University is trying its level best to establish and provide scholarly support with lots of exposure to students in order to enable them to participate in every single events. The sole objective of TEC is to make sure that all different types of events under the umbrella of Parul University across all academic disciplines happen in their respective area’s at prestigious national/international level events. TEC is feeling proud to let you know that we are celebrating our Foundation Day wherein we are coming up with 14 challanging and multidisciplinary events. We hope that you will take part this the following events with all the  endeavour and enthusiasm. These is a period of time where it is not ony for winning it's for learning platform also.

Foundation Day Events

  • About event: In this event, the participants will be given a code with a bug (error) in it. They will also be provided the desired output. Participants have to find and rectify that bug to get the desired output.

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is for participants those who have basic knowledge of coding.

    Instructions:
    -- This event is only for Individual participation
    -- It will be the time-based event.
    -- It will be held in two (2) rounds.
    -- Participants will be given access to online compiler where they have to debugcode and submit.
    Date and Time of Event:
    -- 14 Sept 2021 (11:00am- 03:00pm)

    Round Details:
    -- First round: In this round, participant will be given a code to debug. Out of all participants, Top 6 Participants will be short listed for second round
    -- Second Round: In this, the shortlisted candidates will be given second code with
    difficulty level increased to debug. From this, top three (3) participants will be selected as winners.

    Judgement Criteria:
    -- This is completely time and output-based event.
    -- Once the participant submits his/her code, it will be judged based on time taken to submit and whether code is generating desired output.
    -- ‘Desired output in less time’ will be the winning criteria.

  • About event:
    In this event, the participants have to give a power point presentation regarding their idea/innovation/trending technology in Information Technology to the evaluator.

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open for all having basic knowledge about Recent Trends in Information Technology Sector.

    Instructions:
    -- This event is only for Group (maximum 3 members) participation
    -- Each participant have to prepare a presentation on his/her topic.
    -- Only 5 minutes (4 minutes for presentation + 1 minute for Q/A) will be given to each participant.

  • About event:
    Treasure hunts are information-based scavenger hunts, or puzzle hunts, in which teams use their collective brainpower to solve clues. Each team is presented with a group of technical puzzles, or algorithmic clues, pseudocodes which teams must solve in order to find a piece of information to get final solution at the end of hunt.

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open only for participants from Information Technology field.

    Instructions:
    -- There should be only two members in a group. Group having less/more than two members will be disqualified.
    -- Participants must have basic technical knowledge of Windows as well as C programming language.
    -- The hunting is divided into three rounds.
    -- First and second round will be an elimination round in which each group will have to solve pieces of algorithm.
    -- Third Round will require basic knowledge of C programming.
    -- Qualified Groups will have to proceed to next round.
    -- All the decisions will be taken by the higher authority.

    Round Details:
    -- Clue Mining - Digging files and folders to get pieces of clues/algorithm to solve the problem.
    -- Jigsaw the Puzzle - Arranging pieces of algorithm to formulate the final pseudocode.
    -- Expect the Unexpected - Code the collected algorithm using C/C++ without compilation.
    All rounds are time bound. 1st and 2nd rounds are elimination rounds.

  • About event:
    In this event, Brain storming circuit in Electronics and basic electrical components. The theoretical as well as practical approaches will be enhanced. Student will be able to demonstrate the circuit’s simulation for given task on the given platform.

    Outcome of the technical event -- Student will be able to demonstrate the circuit making for given task on the given platform.
    -- It will enhance the handholding skill in circuit making.
    -- Development of troubleshooting for complex application area.
    -- As a future career prospective in Electrical engineering
    -- Problem solving approach and critical thinking developed in student.


    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open for participants from any Engineering field.

    Instructions:
    -- A team should consist of at least two and maximum three members.
    -- All kind of components cost bear by team only.
    -- Multiple entries by one person are not allowed.
    -- No external help will be provided or to be used.
    -- All team members should involve equally to justify the team effort.
    -- The theme selected/innovation should be based on specified time only otherwise the team will be disqualified.
    -- Good internet facility is required during online mode.
    -- Working circuit and depth knowledge about the circuit will have greater priority in the selection criteria.

    -- Team is qualified based on abstract submission on the topic of “Engineering influence on the society” in 350-500 words.

    Rules and Regulations for Final Round:
    -- Final selection of the winning team is based upon the experimental work and the depth of knowledge about the circuit.

  • About event:
    Computer Aided Design (CAD) is a process in which designers use computers to create prototypes, models and ideas. This CAD designing event is developed to provide designers and creative thinkers a platform to showcase and explore their technical drawing and drafting skills.

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open for participants having knowledge of AutoCAD software.

    Instructions:
    -- Participants need to join link for the event,15 minutes prior to the time of start
    -- Registration is compulsory, on the spot entries will not be entertained
    -- Depending on the number of participants registered event may be conducted in single or double rounds

    Round Details:
    Round 1
    In this, the participants have to design the given machine component in AutoCAD or normal sheet, based on the given principles and specifications.

    Rules For Round 1
    Rule 1 : All the required specifications and dimensions must be included and clearly visible.
    Rule 2 : Proper engineering drawing rules and conventions must be followed.
    Rule 3 : Ambiguous and improper dimensioning and presentation will not be accounted.
    Rule 4 : Precision and neatness carry heavy weightage in qualifying the round.
    Rule 5 : All the necessary details should be mentioned clearly in the drawing sheet.
    Rule 6 : Final authority and decision will always be with the Core Committee of FootPrints’21.

    Specifications for Round 1
    1. Half Imperial (A2) sheet must be used OR AutoCAD can also be used.
    2. First angle orthographic projection of the given machine component is to be drawn.
    3. At least two views must be drawn and if sectioning is required then sectioned view is also to be drawn.
    4. The file must be submitted as an image format.
    5. For participants with sheet, scanned image of the sheet has to be uploaded and participants using AutoCAD must submit the work as an image of sheet layout in AutoCAD.
    6. The submitted file must contain the name, e-mail id and contact number of all the members of the team.

    Round 2
    In this round, participants will have to analyze the given component based on design, production and metallurgical aspects and will have to present on the same.
    Note: Participants will also get the participation certificate, if and only if the participant be present during the event.

    In this event, Newspapers have been used for making suspension bridge...Participants need to complete their task with in specified time.

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open for participants from Engineering and Architecture field.

    Instructions:
    -- Newspapers have been used for making suspension bridge.
    -- Bonding material is only Synthetic Glue.
    -- Minimum members per group are 2 and maximum is 3.
    -- Required materials: News Papers and Glue.

    In this event, Advertising influences nearly 90 percent of consumer decisions to purchase goods and services. Video Advertising offers benefits ahead of any other medium, making it an effective use of advertising. Taking this into consideration, an event is planned about preparing an advertisement for a Pharmaceutical product.

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open for participants from any field.

    Instructions:
    -- The participants can choose any Medicinal or Healthcare product to advertise.
    -- The Product can be a novel product or market existing product -- Choose your own brand name and Tagline.
    -- Make your own slogan and/or tune with a message.
    -- The participant can make a banner
    -- Language can be either English or Hindi.

    Everyone is aware about latest invention but, very think about how they have been invented, this competition will provide chance to participant to learn in detail about journey of an invention starting from its inception to application in day-to-day science. Participant will have to convey the autobiography of selected invention during the competition.

    All the students of homoeopathy from India and Aboard would be invited to present to us their conceptual understanding and a model of homoeopathic science that could explain how homoeopathy can be used as a rational art of healing in this New Pandemic Era.

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open only for Homeopathy field.

    Instructions:

    -- All the Students from 1st to internships and PG students can participate.

    This competition will be online. In this event, the participants have to recite shlokas from Samhita’s like Ashtang Hrudaya, Charak Samhita, Sushrut Samhita. This competition will help students in their study also. Eligibility Criteria: This event is open only for Ayurveda field.

    Instructions:
    -- Single participation only.
    -- Every participants will get 5 minutes for shloka recitation.
    -- The shlokas must be from Samhita’s.
    -- Participants should know the reference of the shlokas.
    -- The participants will be asked the explanation of the recited shlokas.
    -- The competition is open for both UG & PG students.

    Best out of industrial waste: "Save it or waste it"

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open for Any 12th Pass student, BBA and MBA field as well as any student of any stream can participate.

    Instructions:
    -- Minimum Two students can Participate in a team.
    -- Students have to identify the industrial waste and how we can recycle it.
    -- Students can use “Best out of Waste” concept with respect to Industrial wastes and scrap. And after recycling it how one can earn income.
    -- Students will have to prepare the presentation not more than 15 slides.
    -- The presentation should be equipped with images and data.
    -- Students can show their creativity and innovativeness during presenting the presentation.
    -- Each team will get 5 to 7 minutes of time to present and 2 to 3 minutes of Question answer round.

  • About event:
    National Level case study competition for Management Students, Doctoral, PG, and UG. This will be a case competition where teams will be required to submit a solution to a problem statement in the first round in PPT format. PPT naming should be TeamName CollegeName Round Number The top 6 teams in second round will be shortlisted to present their solution to our judges in 10 minutes on Google Meet. Additional 5 minutes will be provided to each for a small Q&A session.

    Eligibility Criteria: This event is open for BBA, MBA, PhD field as well as any student of any stream can participate.

    Instructions:
    -- The competition is open for undergraduate and postgraduate students from the top engineering institutes and B-Schools of India
    -- Each team can have 2-3 members.
    -- Multiple teams from the same college are allowed.
    -- Participants in the same team should be from the same college.
    -- Team members can be from different disciplines as long as they are from the same college.
    -- A student cannot be part of more than one team.
    -- Send the PPT named as TeamName CollegeName Round Number via D2C.
    -- All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity, and final judgments will be with the organizing committee of Parul University.
    -- Finalists/qualifying teams to submit a soft copy of the college ID card.
    -- The organizing committee holds the discretion to change the formats, date, and structure of the event at any point.
